Apurv Jain

Visiting Researcher Harvard Business School

Apurv Jain is a visiting researcher at HBS focusing on applying AI and alternative data to better measuring and predicting the macroeconomy. Before HBS, Apurv led MSFT in applying AI and exploring uses of alternative data for investing purposes as the co-founder and finance lead of MSFT Econ Measurement Group (MSEM.) From 2014 to 2018, he helped MSEM grew into a 10 person team of ML experts, researchers and investment professionals with $100 mm AUM. The team also established research partnerships with central banks and top asset managers. 

Apurv speaks regularly at various industry and academic conferences and has published papers in computer science and economics. His previous experience includes managing MSFT's $3B Credit book, a senior researcher role at Bridgewater Associates, and FX research and trading at Deutsche Bank. He has an MBA from University of Chicago, a master's degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech, and has completed his coursework towards a Financial Economics PhD at MIT. Apurv also acts as an advisor to Kuvera.in - an Indian robo-advisor platform, Newconstructs- a robo-analyst, and Suprafin.io- a crypto asset manager
