Senior AI Engineer Vanguard

Edward is the Senior Artificial Intelligence Engineer in the Investment Management Group at Vanguard where he is currently spearheading multiple AI projects focused on using ML, DL, and RL for alpha signal creation and testing in financial markets for the active fund groups managing approximately $1.4 trillion in AUM. He has extensive experience managing global macro portfolios, munging data, and building and optimizing models. He holds an AB from Harvard in Government, an MS in Financial Engineering from Columbia University, and an MS in Economic Systems Engineering and Operations Research from Stanford University. He is also a CFA Charterholder and Chartered Market Technician and has a Certificate in Management Science from Stanford University, an AWS Specialization Certification in Machine Learning, and a TensorFlow Developer Professional Certificate from DeepLearning.ai. He is also a course mentor for Professor Andrew Ng’s Coursera class “Neural Networks and Deep Learning” and agrees that deep reinforcement learning (possibly combined with cheap gamma) is “the AI of the future.”
